A note from the composer...
Emerald Waltz is a tribute to Ireland, its beauty, character and culture, and isinspired by elements of traditional Irish folk music, such as the typical AABBstructure. Lyrical melodic phrases with a broadly Aeolian tonality are sharedamongst the harp parts, and juxtaposed by interchanging harp tunings of Bb/Band F#/F. The music showcasesthe collective atmospheric warmthof massed harps, featuring an antiphonal surround sound combined with delicatesolos scattered amongst the harp ensemble, and the lively closing section drawselements together with rhythmic flourishes in a joyful celebration.
