A note from the composer...
Diamond Fanfare II was written to celebrate Robert Morgan’s 60thanniversary of brass banding involvement.
The main theme, based around the words ‘Robert Morgan MBE’, isheard sixty times throughout the music and is played at some point by eachinstrument of the band. In addition, snippets are increasingly incorporated(especially in the cornets) from all of my music premiered and performed byLydbrook Band to date: Diamond Fanfare,Silver Rose, Antiphonary, Their Songs ofFreedom, Dance where the Spirit Enightens,Innovation 216 and The Grand UnionWaltz.
Diamond Fanfare II is dedicated to Robert with thanks for giving me my first everbrass band commission, Diamond Fanfare,and for embracing the premieres and projects shared with Lydbrook Band over thelast five years.
