Liz was delighted to be invited to adjudicate again at the RWCMD Cory Band Composition Prize 2018 on Saturday 26 May, with trumpet player John Wallace and Cory Musical Advisor Nigel Seaman, at the prestigious Dora Stoutzker Hall. Three very contrasting new compositions were performed in a diverse programme of music by The Cory Band, conductor Philip Harper with The Wallace Collection. The winner was Andrew Wainwright's The Spirit of St Louis; his parents are pictured here together with L-R Philip Morris (Kapitol Promotions), Liz, John Wallace, Philip Harper and Nigel Seaman.

Some of the best brass musicians in the world, at the peak of their powers, each presenting a programme of contemporary and traditional repertoire, along with major solo works, effortlessly linked by the inimitable Frank Renton.
Each band will be encouraged to present themselves in their best possible light, playing to their strengths and free of the stresses and strains of contesting.
