'Slate, Sea and Sky' travels to New Zealand

'Slate, Sea and Sky' will be the soprano cornet test piece for the New Zealand Brass Band Championships Open Brass Solo 2027

This version of 'Slate, Sea and Sky' will be performed by soprano cornet players at the championships during the Open Brass Solo competition.

'Slate, Sea and Sky' was originally written for cornet and brass band, and recorded by Jim Hayes with the Cooperation Band, conducted by Michael Fowles in 2016. It was later transcribed for cornet and piano, premiered by Richard Marshall, and the soprano cornet version was created for the degree recital of Glen Carroll in 2019.
