The South-West Open Youth Orchestra, conductor Doug Bott, with Bristol Youth Choir, conductor David Ogden, gave the world premiere of City Lights at the Breaking the Glass Ceiling symposium (same name as the article below but no connection!) at Colston Hall on 29 September. Bristol Youth Choir also performed City Bridges, accompanied by SWOYO member Ashleigh Turley, the second performance of this song commissioned by the Bristol-Hannover-Bordeaux 70th anniversary twinning celebrations and first performed at Bristol Zoo in June.
At the symposium, the exciting launch of the National Open Youth Orchestra was announced for September 2018! Here is a clip from BBC Radio Bristol which features both City Bridges and City Lights.
