Tide and Time, a 12 minute work inspired by artists in Liz's family will be performed by the first time on Friday 25 February in a programme of music by Foden's Band, conductors Michael Fowles and James Gourlay, including Bliss Kenilworth , and the last ever piece written by Derek Bourgeois (1941-2017), Trials and Triumphs. Tide and Time traces a timeline of family artists from her Great-Grandfather, a landscape painter and teacher at Goldsmiths' College; Grandfather, a commercial artist who created advertisements for radio and TV companies; and more recent generations including her father, a keen amateur artist. She will also be taking part in Meet the Composer, talking in conversation with Paul Hindmarsh (Festival Director )and fellow composers.
