Slate, Sea and Sky, written for and recorded by Jim Hayes (Jonny Midnight) and the Scottish Co-op Band, Michael Fowles, was broadcast on the radio programme 'Sounds of Brass' on Wednesday 8th May. Inspired by the poem of the same name by Norman Bissell, the track is part of the album Angels will Fall, recorded in 2016 and described by Brass Band World as 'the musical highlight of the disc'.
'Beyond the Light', one of two tracks on the Grimethorpe Colliery Band album 'Postcards from Grimethorpe' conducted by Jack Stamp, was broadcast on the new Radio 3 series, Brass Banding with Hannah Peel.
