Representing the UK at the second Fanfare Repertoire Festival with a new commission
Reflecting on last weekend’s vibrant Fanfare Repertoire Festival in The Netherlands - very proud to represent the U.K. with the world premiere of my commissioned work CityScape by the National Youth Fanfare Orchestra. Thrilled that this will be published by a Dutch publishing company next year.
The festival, brilliantly organised by Stichting CRON and team, brought together composers from 8 different European countries, conductors, performers, organisers and publishers. We don’t have fanfare bands in the UK but they are hugely popular in Holland and Belgium - a rich combination of saxophones, brass and percussion.
Many thanks to all - a video will be available shortly and I’m planning to transcribe CityScape for brass band in the future.
