Intergenerational choirs and dancers in Grand Finale of three week festival
The co-creative culmination of months of collaborative work with older people choirs and their facilitators, professional choreographer Lizzi Kew-Ross, student musicians and dancers from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, saw the Finale! performance take place at Trinity Laban dance faculty on 6 October.
Finale! featured six choirs from the Lewisham area, each featured in their own individual song interspersed with dance interludes before the whole company came together for a rousing finish. The project took place over several months in co-ordination with the Trinity Laban Learning and Participation team, with Liz and Lizzi visiting choirs and dance groups to get to know the members and co-create words, music and dance for the 25 minute performance. Directed by Natasha Lohan, the sun shone and the spectacular Trinity Laban foyer was filled with music, dance and laughter in a joyous afternoon of creative music-making.
