It was amazing fun bringing together all these different artists! I love working with diverse combinations - and the combination of Dildar from RSVP Bhangra on the beach, Belinda at a chapel in Wales and the Grimethorpe Colliery Band at Elsecar Heritage Centre, alongside the Carduccis at home, Darius at Leeds Town Hall and the Guards Chapel singers filmed after a Sunday service, was brilliant to bring together. Add into that capturing RSVP at a festival in Cirencester just as the sun was setting....
Surtaal Celebrates is an ongoing collaborative project and part of Surtaal Symphony, a co-creation with RSVP Bhangra.
This video features Grimethorpe Colliery Band, RSVP Bhangra, Belinda Evans, Carducci String Quartet, a quartet from the Choir of the Guards' Chapel (Belinda Evans, Vanessa Heine, Richard Robbins, Robert Garland) and Darius Battiwalla (organ).
It features a blend of live and online, filmed throughout the UK. Video and sound by Daniel at World of Brass from a concept by myself.
