Song from Silver Rose | Saxhorn Fest | 2019

I was asked to write this arrangement of Silver Rose by Katrina Marzella, following her performance in a version of Silver Rose with Newmains and District Band, conducted by her father Michael Marzella in 2018. It's since been transcribed for other quartets including euphonium and tuba.

Festival Quartet - Helen Varley, Nat Martin, Katrina Marzella, Mike Kavanagh. Saxhorn Fest, St Mary's Church, Richmond, 02/02/19.

From Silver Rose. Originally commissioned by Bristol City Council with funding from Arts Council England. Part of Bristol 2014 - Bristol's programme marking the centenary of the start of the First World War and looking at other conflicts that have had an impact on the city over the last century.
