Written for the 40th (ruby) anniversary of Croscombe Village Orchestra in 2015
__________________________________________________________________
Ruby Fanfare was composed for the 40th (ruby) anniversary concert of Croscombe Village Orchestra on 10 January 2015. This festive piece celebrates the orchestra from the picturesque Somerset village of Croscombe, near Wells, which was founded by Jo Sackett, with Antony Bevan as conductor for most of their four decades. I spent many happy hours with them when learning the french horn, and was delighted to join them again for their anniversary concert, and am still in touch with members.
Congratulations to Croscombe Village Orchestra - here’s to your golden anniversary and beyond!
